VeChain made a significant impact on sustainability with its campaign that began in November. Within just two months, 2,400 users participated and logged 450,000 actions, resulting in the saving of three million kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2). Additionally, the campaign saved over nine million gallons of water. CEO Sunny Lu expressed amazement at how small collective efforts can have such a massive impact on the overall goal of sustainability.
Sustainability is now more critical than ever and requires a collective effort to achieve. VeChain has demonstrated the power of small collective actions in reaching sustainability goals. In just two months, their sustainability drive saved over three million kilograms of CO2. Sustainability is about the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature, preserving the world for future generations. VeChain has been at the forefront of supporting sustainability and launched a campaign during the Nitto ATP Finals tennis event in Turin, Italy, last year. The aim was to bring people together from around the world and incentivize them through the X-to-Earn campaign to take actions towards the shared sustainability goal.
During the campaign, VeChain challenged users to log into the UN’s AWorld platform and record their sustainability actions for a chance to win tickets to the next ATP Finals in Turin. CEO Sunny Lu revealed that the campaign has been a tremendous success, proving that blockchain is the ideal network for globally concerted efforts to save the planet.
Sunny Lu presented the campaign’s milestones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where over 100,000 attendees and 2,700 exhibitors were present. He shared key figures that demonstrated the campaign’s success, stating that within two months, 2,400 participants logged approximately 450,000 actions, resulting in the saving of three million kilograms of CO2, which is equivalent to avoiding more than a thousand long-haul flights. The campaign also saved nine million gallons of water, equivalent to 14 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Lu emphasized that even small efforts from individuals can have a significant impact.
The campaign’s results were tabulated after two months, and the figures are even higher now. Lu highlighted that a small effort from everyone is all that’s needed. Although the campaign had only registered 2,400 users after two months, VeChain currently has over 2.88 million known addresses, meaning that the registered sustainability campaign users make up only 0.085%. As more VeChainThor users register and participate in the X-to-Earn campaign, the impact will be substantial.
