Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of SHIB, has introduced the WHY Combinator, a decentralized program aimed at fostering meme coin initiatives. The objective is to enhance the implementation of Shiba Inu technologies and increase the significance of the BONE token within the network, as reported by CNF.
Shiba Inu’s Vision for a Decentralized Future
On January 11, Kusama detailed the program’s goals and the latest technological advancements in a blog post. The program aims to provide additional incentives and support to developers working on Shibarium, the Shiba Inu network’s Layer-2 solution. More than thirty technologies, categorized under the 36 Chambers of Tech, have been developed to support this growth. These tools include artificial intelligence, Web3 gaming, and decentralized identity solutions.
The WHY Combinator will leverage Shiba Inu’s blockchain infrastructure to expedite progress. Kusama emphasized the goal of establishing “Powered by Shib” as a renowned brand, similar to other major technology platforms. The program will offer support to developers utilizing Shibarium to create innovative applications.
TREAT Token and Community Engagement
A crucial aspect of this initiative is the TREAT token, which stands for Transactional Rewards for Engagement & Access Token. This token will serve as the primary settlement currency for projects within the WHY Combinator. Previously, we discussed the introduction of weekly TreatDrops to encourage participation and reward user engagement within the ecosystem.
These incentives aim to drive user activity in areas such as the Shiba Inu Metaverse and NFT collections, including Shiboshis and SHEboshis. The strategy is designed to attract new participants and incentivize the development of additional projects within the ecosystem.
Shiba Inu’s Strategy for Long-Term Blockchain Innovation
Shiba Inu developers are also focused on expanding the functionality of the BONE token, which currently serves as the gas token for Shibarium. One proposed development includes enabling Layer-3 (L3) solutions and positioning Shibarium as a settlement and data availability layer. Similar to networks like Arbitrum and Optimism, these roll-ups would allow for more efficient blockchain transactions and increased scalability, as reported by CNF.
An important aspect of this plan is the potential integration of Chainlink’s cross-chain capabilities. If successful, this integration would transform Shibarium into a connected blockchain application ecosystem, enhancing its functionality and attracting development talent.
Nevertheless, Kusama maintains an optimistic outlook on the ecosystem’s growth, as he has consistently expressed. He reminded his team that innovation is key at Shiba Inu in order to build a robust blockchain layer capable of supporting functional offerings.
The establishment of the WHY Combinator is an expansion plan that will position Shiba Inu as a formidable player in the blockchain industry.
