INATBA has announced the establishment of the Industrial Blockchain Task Force, which aims to evaluate and discuss technology infrastructure projects involving blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT) in Europe. The task force, with the active participation of IOTA, will release a report in January 2024 that maps these projects and analyzes their technical foundations to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
INATBA’s Industrial Blockchain Task Force, in partnership with Siemens, Accenture, Fujitsu, and IOTA, is dedicated to driving innovation in European tech infrastructure projects. They will assess use cases and explore the potential of blockchain technology. This collaboration brings together experts from the public and private sectors, including the IOTA Foundation, to evaluate and discuss projects involving blockchain technology. The task force’s main objective is to compile a comprehensive report by January 2024, mapping these projects and conducting in-depth analyses of their technical foundations.
The core mission of the Industrial Blockchain Task Force, in collaboration with the IOTA Foundation, is to empower industrial decision-makers and drive innovation by evaluating efforts to build resilient industrial products and processes using a combination of blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). Participants from various sectors, such as energy, automotive, production, and circular economies, will contribute their expertise to this collaborative effort.
Ricardo Simoes, Executive Director of INATBA, expressed excitement about the launch of the task force and its potential impact on European tech infrastructure projects. He emphasized the importance of providing insights into the use of blockchain and AI for industrial consortiums and processes. Simoes believes that this initiative represents a significant leap forward in facilitating collaboration within the European Union and highlights the versatility of blockchain technology across various industries, with special attention to IOTA’s contributions.
The key focus areas of the Industrial Blockchain Task Force, with contributions from IOTA, include evaluating existing use cases, promoting corporate and consortial collaboration, and advocating for standardization in major sectors such as Energy, Automotive, Production, and Circular industries. The task force, in partnership with IOTA, will actively participate in bi-weekly meetings and contribute to discussions on innovation and technology integration for initiatives such as Digital Product Passports, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and ESG reporting requirements.
The members of the task force, including IOTA Foundation, Accenture, Fujitsu, Siemens, and VeChain, among others, will play a crucial role in summarizing the capabilities of blockchain technology, especially in relation to EU policy goals and initiatives. As utility tokens move towards regulatory compliance with MiCA in 2024, the Industrial Blockchain Task Force, with IOTA’s contributions, will contribute to discussions on innovation and technology integration.
For those interested in contributing to this initiative and shaping the future of technology integration in Europe, especially with IOTA’s expertise, they are encouraged to get involved with the Industrial Blockchain Task Force by contacting Bara Greplova at [email protected].
