IOTA, in collaboration with Filancore, played a crucial role in the ALFRIED project, shaping the future of smart mobility. Over the years, IOTA has emerged as a leader in digital innovation. Recently, at the ALFRIED event, IOTA’s Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) demonstrated its ability to power IoT innovations for enterprise applications. Several partners of the ALFRIED project showcased their integration of IOTA into their inventions, particularly in relation to autonomous vehicles.
The ALFRIED project aims to revolutionize inner-city transportation through Automated and Connected Driving (AVF) and Intelligent Transport Systems (IVS). Recognizing the current challenges and risks associated with the transport system, the project’s partners conducted extensive research and presented their findings and innovations at the event.
Filancore GmbH, a Decentralized Identity Management for IoT provider and attendee of the ALFRIED event, highlighted the presentations on mini-trucks for traffic simulations. The simulations included a Smart City control center that addresses critical questions such as how to manage traffic congestion and ensure the safety of motorists and cyclists. These presentations underscored the importance of technology in shaping a better future.
As an IOTA-based protocol, Filancore GmBH played a crucial role in supporting Eto Gruppe, one of the core partners of the ALFRIED project. Eto Gruppe specializes in producing electromagnetic valves, actuators, and sensors for car manufacturers worldwide. Filancore provides Eto Gruppe with a state-of-the-art SSI Management system, which helps combat counterfeiting in their car parts production. By leveraging IOTA’s foolproof system, Filancore ensures data immutability and enhances its support for Eto Gruppe’s mission and the overall mission of ALFRIED.
IOTA has been actively upgrading its protocol to further its mission of revolutionizing digital autonomy and enhancing privacy. The recent launch of IOTA Identity 1.0, built on the advancements from the Stardust protocol upgrade, demonstrates IOTA’s commitment to privacy. This focus on privacy has been a consistent feature in previous protocol upgrades as well. Given that the European Union, where the ALFRIED project will be implemented at scale, places great importance on privacy and data economy, IOTA’s role is expected to grow as stakeholders recognize its potential.
