IOTA Introduces EVM Mainnet, Enhancing Blockchain Capabilities for Real-World Asset Integration
IOTA has officially launched its EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) Mainnet, introducing a range of new features and upgrades to enhance the functionality and adoption of the IOTA EVM. The launch includes the introduction of smart contracts, cross-chain functionality, parallel processing, and enhanced security against MEV attacks.
Collin Brown, a well-known member of the crypto community and blockchain expert, highlighted the launch of the EVM-compatible Layer 2 solution, IOTA EVM. This new solution focuses on real-world asset integration and includes features such as smart contracts, cross-chain functionality, parallel processing, and enhanced security against MEV attacks. Partnerships with various companies will further support the development and adoption of IOTA EVM.
The IOTA EVM Mainnet offers full compatibility with Ethereum’s EVM, allowing for the seamless deployment of Solidity smart contracts. It also introduces innovative features like parallel transaction processing, improving scalability, and IOTA’s unique Layer 1 Native Asset Framework, which ensures secure and fair transaction processing by preventing front-running and value extraction.
IOTA EVM facilitates smooth interactions between EVM and non-EVM chains, pushing the boundaries of real-world adoption. The project’s commitment to regulatory-friendly environments is demonstrated by its official registration as a DLT foundation in the Abu Dhabi Global Market and its compliance with the German regulatory framework. This positions IOTA to bridge traditional sectors with crypto-native applications, particularly in the realm of Real-World Asset (RWA)-centric DeFi ecosystems.
The launch of IOTA EVM is supported by a strong network of infrastructure providers, including Stargate Finance, LayerZero, Blast API, Pyth Network, Supra, and Goldsky. These partners offer essential services such as liquidity transport, interoperability protocols, reliable node infrastructure, decentralized price and data feeds, and powerful data indexing.
