ETO GRUPPE, a leading company in the field of environmental measurement technology, has been selected to supply Smart Green City Konstanz with 12 cutting-edge IoT weather stations. This exciting project aims to develop a comprehensive urban climate data platform, utilizing the secure and decentralized capabilities of IOTA’s tangle technology. In addition to the weather stations, ETO GRUPPE will also provide 12 mobile weather and soil measurement stations for testing purposes.
The Smart Green City Konstanz project is a groundbreaking venture that combines technology with sustainability. It is driven by the city’s commitment to integrated, sustainable, and community-oriented urban and regional development. With a focus on promoting the “Quality of Life, Participation, and Resources” of its residents, Konstanz aims to become a pioneer in digitalization and sustainable urban development.
Central to the project is the establishment of a centralized urban climate data platform, which will address various climate objectives and adapt to climate change. The 12 IoT weather stations provided by ETO GRUPPE will play a crucial role in collecting accurate and real-time climate data. These weather stations are equipped with advanced features such as IP6x certification, LoRaWAN connectivity, solar panels for energy supply, and integration with the urban data platform. They will measure parameters such as air temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed, and direction, with four stations providing continuous surface temperature data.
By analyzing this climate data, the project aims to identify “Heat Zones” and “Cold Zones” in urban areas, enabling effective countermeasures and improved winter services. ETO GRUPPE’s expertise in environmental measurement technology, combined with Bonner ecoTech GmbH’s capabilities in digitization and innovative sensor technology, will support Konstanz in achieving its goal of creating a more livable, efficient, technologically advanced, ecological, and socially inclusive city.
The Smart Green City Konstanz project is set to launch in mid-2024 and is expected to bring about a new era of innovation in IoT and smart cities.
