Murad Mahmudov has raised doubts about the potential of XRP and ADA as robust investment options, predicting that despite economic challenges, alternative cryptocurrencies (altcoins) will surpass other sectors in performance.
Former Goldman Sachs analyst Murad Mahmudov ignited a heated debate on investment prospects by tweeting about XRP and Cardano (ADA), dubbing them “cult meme coins.” Mahmudov suggested these cryptocurrencies lack substantial foundations and rely heavily on community acceptance rather than intrinsic value.
Mahmudov’s skepticism emerges against a backdrop of a broader market downturn, with XRP trading well below its historical highs. Despite a recent 7.73% decline, XRP saw a modest 1.56% increase over the past 24 hours, settling around $0.4375.
Regarding the future of the altcoin market, Mahmudov remains optimistic overall, despite his reservations about XRP and ADA. He anticipates altcoins will outperform other segments of the crypto market in the current cycle, noting their role in fostering innovation and adoption within the ecosystem. However, Mahmudov cautions that reduced American household savings could limit future investments in the cryptocurrency market, potentially tempering altcoins’ expected performance.
Previously, CNF reported technical analyses suggesting XRP could see significant price spikes akin to its 2017 surge, where it skyrocketed by 70,000%.
