Cardano, in its weekly development report dated February 2, 2024, has revealed several updates and milestones achieved by its various teams. The report highlights the completion of 83.2 million transactions, the launch of 157 projects, the discovery of 9.52 million native tokens, and the counting of 1322 building projects on the network.
The DB Sync team made a significant update by preparing and testing a new db-sync version for the mainnet. The Marlowe team also made progress by creating a non-SRE process for running benchmarks, aimed at improving performance evaluation and resolving Wolfram oracle references.
Another notable development is the optimization of the Marlowe Runtime, as well as the merging of the real-world-Marlowe and Marlowe-hackathons repositories into a contracts folder. The team has also explored the possibility of supporting CIPs and updated the Marlowe security document with the latest script hashes and CF developer documents to enhance security compliance. Additionally, a documentation and video were created to explain the role of tokens, and a test for the atomic swap contract was devised.
The Hydra team conducted a yearly road-mapping session and introduced a breaking API change to eliminate JSON encoding of transactions.
Furthermore, the Mithril team continued its work on implementing a new data type to certify Cardano transactions within the Mithril network. They successfully completed the signature of the transactions set and implemented the aggregator route for generating proofs of membership. They also improved the resilience of computing the list of immutable files in a Cardano node database and expanded the coverage of end-to-end tests to accommodate multiple versions of the Cardano node and various hard fork scenarios.
In addition to these developments, the Cardano community has been actively participating in the voting for Project Catalyst, with over 150,000 votes cast across 920 proposals seeking community funding. The education team is also planning a second iteration of the Cardano developer training course in collaboration with the Africa Blockchain Center.
Cardano has recently partnered with Petrobras University to educate its 45,000 employees on the transformative potential of blockchain technology. Participants who completed the program were issued certificates.
